EFF leader Julius Malema told a group of supporters in Senekal on Friday morning to “march into the town”.
Many supporters are wielding sticks, golf clubs and other items, including cricket bats and hockey sticks.
The EFF and ANC members were protesting alongside people from lobby group AfriForum and local farmers in the Free State town.Racial tensions have been high in Senekal since the murder of local farm manager Brendin Horner earlier this month.
Meanwhile, EFF leader Julius Malema mobilised his followers, saying they were in Senekal to protect democracy and the Constitution in the wake of the violence.Senekal was painted red with members of the EFF dominating the space just outside court.
